About

The PDX ICE Watch Network (PIN) is a loose, grassroots network of people across the Portland Metro Area who are committed to defending our immigrant community and taking action when it matters most.We organize:Rapid response and community patrolsOutreach and educational eventsMobilizations and protestsMutual aid and long-term community defense effortsFundraising for resources for those suffering from ICEOur work is guided by the needs of the moment—and by the people most directly impacted.

Rooted in Community. Led by Immigrants.

The PDX ICE Watch Network (PIN) began with one Latina who was tired of living in fear for her family and friends. She created an Instagram account to share information about ICE activity—using whatever verified details she could find to help keep people safe.As requests for information poured in, it became clear this work couldn’t be done alone. She reached out to others who shared her urgency and values, intentionally building a team of admins who are POC and come from immigrant families—people with lived experience, deep commitment, and a long history of social justice work. That small effort grew into a powerful, community-driven network.

Community Patrols

Community patrols are a key part of our work. Our patrols prioritize:Documenting patterns of ICE activityRegular patrols by community membersKnowing our rights to document the conduct of government officialsThis leads to:Faster response times to ICE activityGreater ability to document detentionsDirect support for families and community members affected by ICE kidnappingsThis approach is proactive rather than reactive, allowing us to show up in real time and stand with our neighbors when they need it most.

How We Work

PDX ICE Watch provides a flexible framework that allows local groups and individuals to connect, share information, and support nearby communities. We don’t expect communities to fit into a rigid model. Instead, we meet people where they are and provide exactly what they need.We are not a nonprofit or a business, which gives us greater freedom to document, photograph, and record law enforcement activity in plainly visible public spaces. This work is protected under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and rooted in our belief in free speech, transparency, and public accountability. Our goal is simple: to shine light on what ICE wants to keep in the dark.
